He Wrote (1955 -- 2045)

He wrote.
From his age
of reason
to his dying day

a huge book
of free verse

that no one
could make
heads nor tails of,

tho' waiver not,
he continued
right through
storms and calm
squalls and breezes,

determined
when undermined,

secretive
when incarcerate,

introspect
when surrounded,

dogmatic
when challenged,

helpful
when asked.
