Warrantless Wiretapping Is So Passe :: MAY 6, 2013

Those bed bugs
 might be wired bugs
 voices you hear
 might be exceedingly queer

But the sham
 in the Sam I am
 is these bugs
 cannot be fumigated

And poor old Obama
 with his bipolar drama
 just wants to avoid
 being assassinated …

So, join up Nation
 listen to your papa
 and in your pie hole
 we’ll put a stopper!

Contrasts

Sometimes I completely love my family
Other times it is like the landing of Normandy ...
... That is not all.

Much of the time between
I am suffering along with them all
... in the empathy way.

My brothers and sisters annoy me
and to their mind I am a pain
... that is normal

But then one of them
tells me a dream he had
... and it is lazik

Without family we toil
but with family we boil
... we are each's foil.

Cold Bone

Let me introduce to you
Georgeanne Bender, a girl
whose parents didn't know
what college to send her

they opted for DUKE
then Louisiana State U
but neither of those two
fit Georgeanne's suit

It turns out, she had been
Daddy's little knobby kneed
Apple dumpling, sugar plum
who learned to jump and run

Said Dad: "Little Georgie girl,
even when you are heavier,
you are still my little savior."
And it took to heart for sure.

So then, how does your kind
come up with those rhymes
like when you say rum and lime
is it Georgie girl on your mind?

Pre-Rumble

I am born
a perfecting man
a sound
low rumbling
philosophy, yes.

Tried in established
patterns, with substance,
with improvements.

Corrections are made
and lessons learned
through mimicry

Yet while I live
rustle me up
some boulders'
and build me
a pyramid
to land on
when I'm dead.

And tape up my ducts
carve a sarcophagus
for my bed
surround me with
jewels from toe to head.

Going from unborn
to beyond dead,
As I want to
rumble the future
when they take out
my sutures.

Lamentations

It should have been so different ...
I've cattle in my notebook;

To auction, to auction they go ...

With pigs in their stomachs
and nowhere to go ...

... but to auction, to auction they go.

Building Blocks of Young Adults

Structure like any structure
is only time, space, and dates ...
also place ... but

Time causes all the fussing;

Time draws the constant linear
that society needs when it is aware;

Many in the present society
have drawn lines in the sand
for sake of benevolence
altruism, and philanthropy...

Time must not advance
till these histrionic mileposts
are set... some would say --

[ ... ]

A helping hand
you can bet
will not come from
your fellow man!

Consider who you are
dealing with;
highly technological
illogical, detoured
data-packed
screw worm...

Theory tacks
and thumbnail hacks
sketches of guilt sacks!

Party to
many initiates
and apprenticeships
until met
the class of worker
who does nothing
until once free
to produce and bloom
then be compensated.

However, relate to
dilemmas
they shall plan
more months
in advance
weeks at a time
till things come to pass

Convert, invert,
challenge and confuse,
react.

Do things get better?
Easier than the climate --
that by the way,
makes one sick;
reminds them of mornings
inspires odd behaviors --
'n mixtures of water
times guilt
up built
upon heaps of complex blotters

Actions therefore deny
state of society
and blur the reason for existence
because numbers of
tasks remain unfinished.

And they are left
with the guilt-phobias
that never get extinguished
even in truth of personality
or diminished return on investments
while the push of time
leaves them bereft structures --
the building blocks of young adults.

Patina

Personal thoughts
certain distillates
of character
precipitates
becoming
third person

Not a whip
nor a will
rather
a Bobolink
on a sill
by newsprint
crumpled
ink stained
moldy
songs of old

Protecting
images on glass
where paper marbles
and tears
and sand disintegrates
'n rubs off ancient silver
from photographs, not permanent

Memories of
lives and
substance
energies would
be lost otherwise
no physical evidence
left behind
save patina
protecting time
Things forever held
and felt in the mind.

Patrick Darnell (1.7.2001)
When I stare
up in the atmosphere
Pressing my eyes
I see the
geode eyes of an eagle,
and face of a man,
I see the
legs of an ox,
and heart of a bear;

God placed there
long ago
in my stamping
the blocks for a coinage
like a geode rare.

Presents Us Fluid

By magical ingest,
time previous dormant,
time began at her voice,
that I happily heard
spill at some place,
I hear it still.

The calendar started
though in mysterious depart
... or, legend, what have you,
creation of two
evolved to this.

I meet her
to hold her hand
... hold my breath ...
spend effort to be quiet
and subdue tendencies
... like to bark!

There and then
thunder started;
no more holding
a two year mentality

But, again,
the mystique of our meeting
there, like that,
with feeling
of rivers flowing
through us.

Rise Here; Lower There

We know when we must write;
When we do write more often
our thoughts gather faster
we become practiced writers.

Tendencies of our poet
of our artist, of our painter --
our own agent --
Who could conglomerate?

Free to explore, scavenge,
race, multiply, score,
etch, cantor, euphor'--
So that want of our kin ...
... is no more.

Personal Dark Matter

Dark matter, dark consequence,
dark knowledge, dark phases
dark torment, dark energy
dark light, endless correlations
dark prey,

filamentous
without color,
unlit universe,
-- all of relics
of my non-existence

Rudiments, eh --
crude, low, rude, primitive,
this is who I am ...
would you destroy me

I relent,
you relent too?
My quest, self-brought test
discovering
what goes wrong?

Can frozen sleep
be an option?
... help yourself,
leave me alone.

Dark extinction, dark distinction

I am only mirror
with one firm thought
in my head...
In this disconnect
I play mad ...

Am I touching, really, really,
touching dark matter?

Modern Warfare

Show no Mercy!!
by Pat Darnell

Graphics that inhabits
Our house and lawn
... do the best
... to calm the storm

We are an uproarious crowd
And we usually get very loud;
Because the cute Avatars in us are proud
Of our techno-cosmic shrouds ...

The thing that is new
is 'Modern Warfare Two' --
Seems it is too fun for Pat 2 and his crew;
They go to their various homes
and boost each other's gnomes

And laughingly slaughter each other
 with their sisters and mothers at home;
Murdering each other with machete
... with daggers, machine guns, and curette
Virtually, they do, while hardly breaking a sweat.

So, certainly, we are not complaining ...
... for this strange techno loop remaining ...
In our homes, gardens, and glade;
No, we are pleased, satisfied, and gratified;
Their virtual blood-soaked battles are ratified ...
...
We just wish Mid Eastern heads
could learn also to play war instead.

When Bramble starts to Bloom

Check the clock
when the bramble starts to bloom
check my heart
when colors enter the room
look in the sky
when rose sharon finds her groom
listen to the land
when angels sing their tune
observe the bands
of red, yellow, pearl, and blue.
