The first time it happened
I remember clear
Very clear sound
like wind
and someone
playing my head bones
as instruments
notes bounced
side to side
top to bottom
making a salad
of my brain
making patterns
in my head

It happened
long before
stereo and 2%
headphones

Before Reese's Pieces
long before 8-tracks

But there weren't
any headphone jacks
in Mom's Hi Fidelity
GE cabinet turntable
