The anguish I feel
knocks out possibilities
knocks out pleasure
knocks out joy
The anguish I feel
has me pinned
has me stonewalled
has me astonished
the anguish I feel
derides me
denies me
imbibes me
Anguish
paralyzes
stupefies
immobilizes
no glee
no gladsomeness
no release
just torment
torture, 'n,
travail

Really wish I couldn"t relate to this...
Funny, you list 'attrition' as a label. Earlier, was reading the text of the new AZ immigration laws, that word was in it. Thought, gotta look it up in my old Webster's...and here it is again! Stil don't know its meaning...!
In fact, I've been in this state most of all day today...
Garnet Gurl:
Attrition. I have my own definition and it has to do with my work life... for instance -- it turns out that when a Japanese gets a work visa it is for three years.
When I worked for a Nippon owned subsidiary in Illinois, NEGA, I realized that the new guys or gals arriving needed someone to help them understand America.
After five years I found myself moving up in the company because of my kindness to the newcomers. And when they left to return to Japan Nippon, well they remembered me, and corresponded with me on privy matters.. I was there till we moved back to Texas.
The Japanese' three year cycle was my attrition. In the Bible I think of Joseph's rise in Pharaoh's court similar to my experience.
But anguish is always with me. I will be writing more on it, but sincerely hope it helps you and others rather than torments.
Thanks for dropping in and making my day [and night] brighter.
